The Sports Achievement Award is organised by the General Authority of Sports and given to those accomplishing or contributing to athletic achievements, or those who make a positive impact on the sports sector.
The objectives of the Sports Achievement Award are to promote a culture of appreciation and honour, supporting and motivating the youth.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award was first offered in 2007. It is given to creativity in any of the various fields of Arab sports. The award aims to educate the sports sector by highlighting the standards of corporate excellence in local and Arab institutions, pave the way for sports researchers at both the local the Arab levels and link research to sports creativity.
Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi Award for Sports Excellence (website in Arabic) aims to support athletes to achieve self-sustainability in the sports field. This award targets individuals who embrace a healthy and balanced lifestyle and have made a clear impact on the real or virtual sports community through social media.
It also recognises sports achievers who have successfully balanced their sports pursuits with academic or professional endeavours.
Categories of the award include athletes who have initiated programmes aimed at nurturing and preparing the next generation of athletes and to institutions that contribute to the promotion of community sports.
