‘Sports for All’ policy
The ‘Sports for All’ policy seeks to promote physical activity and motivate members of the society to embrace an active lifestyle.
Launched by Department of Community Development- Abu Dhabi, the policy outlines the following objectives:
- to identify challenges that hinder certain members of society from participating in sports activities and design solutions for them
- to ensure the rights of individuals to engage in sports
- to recognise and promote traditional sports
- to make sporting activities accessible to all segments and individuals of society without discrimination
- to encourage less active groups, such as the elderly, to participate in sports
- to establish equality in the right to engage in sports, ensuring that all members of society enjoy an equal opportunity to participate in sports and access sports facilities and events.
All sports entities in Abu Dhabi, including those responsible for organising sports events and venues, technical specialists in the field, sports professionals and all individuals employed in the sports sector in Abu Dhabi, must comply with this policy.
